It’s August already, can you believe it? That means it’s a new month for banks/credit cards to announce transfer bonuses to travel partners. Let’s see the offerings for August 2023.

Amex: 30% transfer bonus to British Airways Executive Club through 8/31/23
Amex: 30% transfer bonus to Iberia Plus through 8/31/23
Amex: 15% transfer bonus to Avianca LifeMiles through 8/31/23
Amex: 25% transfer bonus to Hilton Honors through 8/31/23
Chase: 50% bonus to Marriott through 9/30/23
Unfortunately, I don’t have any Amex points at this time. But if I did, I would be most excited about the 30% transfer bonus to British Airways and Iberia. Iberia has a sweet-spot business class redemption from Chicago or the East Coast cities to Madrid for just 34,000 miles during off-peak dates. With this transfer bonus, the cost would be just 26,143 miles. What a steal!
Using Avianca LifeMiles can be very challenging (see Leana’s post from yesterday). But if the website ever gets working again, this transfer could be good.
DO NOT TRANSFER POINTS SPECULATIVELY without seeing if the exact award availability you need.
