Last month, I wrote about 5 Ways to Make Your Cruise Extra Festive. However, on our recent Disney Wish cruise, my kids found unexpected joy in a game of hide and seek with ducks!
Cruising Ducks
It started when we were at Port Canaveral in the waiting area. After checking in, we walked to a row of empty seats to wait for our turn to board the Disney Wish. My two boys found their first ducks!
I’ve read about hiding and finding rubber ducks on Carnival and Royal Caribbean. But, on our past Disney cruises, this really hasn’t been a “thing”. Until now. Apparently, this phenomenon is now on DCL.
And it’s not just regular ‘ol yellow ducks. I’ve seen ducks of multiple colors with costumes and accessories.
“Keep or hide, you decide.” The boys decided to keep the ducks as souvenirs. Then, my daughter made it her mission to find her own ducks. She was always on the lookout. On the third day, she found two of her own.
The kids requested that we buy and hide our own ducks on future cruises. I found a large variety of ducks for cheap on Amazon. The ducks take up less space and are less expensive than getting involved in a Fish Extender Exchange on DCL. So, I’m on board.
Have you found or hidden ducks on your cruise?
