March Transfer Bonuses: Marriott, Avianca, Virgin Red

It’s a new month, and March brings new transfer bonuses!

Chase: 50% bonus to Marriott March 1 – May 15, 2023

Marriott points are worth less than Chase Ultimate Rewards points, even with this 50% bonus. I don’t recommend transferring Chase to Marriott unless you need to top off your Marriott points for an award stay.

Citi: 20% bonus to Avianca Lifemiles March 1-31, 2023

You can use Avianca miles on Star Alliance flights. I’ve used Avianca miles to book an international flight on United. Unfortunately, Avianca’s website and customer service aren’t the best.

Note: Citi also has a 30% bonus to Virgin Atlantic Flying Club February 18-March 18, 2023.

Capital One: 30% bonus to Virgin Red March 1-30, 2023

You can transfer Virgin Red points to Virgin Atlantic Flying Club, which has sweet spots for ANA round-trip flights and Delta One flights (if you can find availability). You can also use Virgin Red points to book a Virgin Voyages cruise.

My Thoughts on these Transfer Bonuses for March

Truthfully, I was hoping that Chase or Capital One would offer a transfer bonus to Iberia or British Airways this month, as I’m getting ready to book award tickets to Europe. I’m going to keep checking Delta award space to Europe to see if I could benefit from the Capital One Virgin Red transfer bonus.

As with all transfer bonuses, I don’t recommend you transfer unless you see award availability first.
