I know there are a lot of travel-related apps out there. Every airline and hotel has an app, and I have many of them on my phone. But in addition to those, there are two travel apps every traveler should have.
BoardingArea
BoardingArea.com is a site that most of you are probably familiar with already. It features many travel blogs from travel experts, including this blog! Reading multiple sources of information is crucial to learning more about this hobby and making sure you don’t miss out on any tips and tricks. Even as a blogger myself, I’m always learning new things!
But did you know there is also a BoardingArea app? On the app, you can customize your view with certain topics and your favorite blogs. You can bookmark articles and see the latest news. Easy peasy!
Travel Freely
Travel Freely is a free tool that tracks your credit card sign-ups. The tool notifies you when a card’s annual fee is coming up, and tells you when you’re eligible for more credit cards. My husband and I both use Travel Freely, and I’ve written about the tool before. See my referral sign-up here. It’s free! Travel Freely also has an app.
Travelers, what are your must-have apps?

hi there, so travel freely – is that better or newer than award wallet? how do they compare?
Nancy says
@Sara Great question. Award Wallet vs. Travel Freely is like comparing apples and oranges. Award Wallet is a tool to keep track of all your miles and points balances. You have to input your account numbers and passwords into that system. Travel Freely doesn’t keep track of your miles but rather your current and past credit cards to help you figure out when you qualify for new ones based on all the bank restrictions. You don’t input any account numbers or passwords into Travel Freely.

Boonie, thanks miles feed is awesome
Boonie says
I’m not sure if there’s an app but Miles Feed has the travel blogs including yours in one place.

I looked at Travel Freely and to set it up looked almost impossible. My wife and I have have maybe 30 CC and the app asked for a lot of information, when did I get each card ? And many terns like the min spend terms and payment dates. Anyway looks like lots of work to set up.
Nancy says
@James It does take a bit to set up. You can run a free credit report at annualcreditreport.com to help. For your older cards, you don’t have to input all the terms like min spend. The most important info are the dates you opened/closed each card so the tool can determine when or if you’re eligible again.
Nancy says
@Boonie Yes! I reference that website too.
