Marriott and Hilton step up with higher welcome bonuses

February 13, 2023 By Nancy 1 Comment

A few weeks ago, the Chase IHG Rewards Premier Credit Card debuted a 175k welcome bonus (see this post). Now, Marriott and Hilton have increased some sign-up bonuses as well.

Chase Marriott Bonvoy Bold

The Chase Marriott Bonvoy Bold has an increased bonus of 60,000 points (previous bonus was 30k). This card is best for those who don’t want to pay any annual fees.

  • 60,000 bonus points after spending $2000 in the first 3 months
  • No foreign transaction fees
  • 15 elite night credits
  • No annual fee
  • Up to 14X points on Marriott spending
  • 2X points on travel

If you’re willing to pay a $95 annual fee, the Chase Marriott Bonvoy Boundless has a better 100k bonus and includes an annual free night. See this post for a complete guide to Marriott Bonvoy.

Note: These cards are subject to Chase’s 5/24 rule. See this post for more details on bank application rules.

Amex Hilton Cards

The Amex Hilton Honors Business Card just increased its bonus to 165,000 points! This elevated offers ends on 4/5/23.

  • 165,000 bonus points after spending $5000 in the first three months
  • $95 annual fee
  • Hilton Gold status
  • Free night certificate after $15k annual spend
  • 10 Priority Pass visits
  • No foreign transaction fees
  • Earn 12X points on Hilton spending
  • 6X points on gas stations, shipping, wireless telephone, flights, car rentals, restaurants
  • 3x points on all other purchases

The personal version of this card, the Amex Hilton Honors Card, also has an increased bonus of 100,000 points. Offer ends on 4/5/23.

  • 100,000 bonus points after spending $2000 in the first six months
  • No annual fee
  • Earn 7X points on Hilton purchases
  • Earn 5X points on restaurants, supermarkets and gas stations
  • Earn 3X points on all other purchases.

This is a great card for those who do not wish to pay an annual fee.

Note: You can only get the bonus on these Amex cards once per lifetime.

I own both of these Hilton credit cards.
