Nancy’s family’s top 5 travel experiences of 2022

December 30, 2022 By Nancy 2 Comments

As 2022 winds down, I’ve been thinking about what a fantastic year it’s been for family travel. My family has made some wonderful memories together on road trips, a cruise, domestic travel and international travel. Here are my favorites:

Cabana at Labadee, Haiti

Early in the summer, my family cruised on Royal Caribbean’s Harmony of the Seas. Our stop at Labadee surprised us, in a good way! We rented a cliffside cabana and enjoyed the crystal clear water. I would return to Labadee in a heartbeat!

The U.S. Open (tennis)

While I wasn’t on this trip, my husband and son had an unforgettable time at the U.S. Open this year. With flights on miles and hotel on points, this experience was made possible by this miles and points hobby.

First time flying in business class to Europe

I’d be lying if I said that flying overseas in business class for the first time wasn’t a big deal for us! The experience certainly made our trip to Paris more comfortable. (Made possible by miles and points, of course!)

Everything about Switzerland

The entire country of Switzerland was a big standout for us this year. The views, the food, the trains, the chocolate, the cheese…I’m dying to go back. You can read all my posts here.

The last college visit

This is a bittersweet one. I went on two college visit trips with my oldest son this year. I enjoyed spending time with just the two of us. But even better was the experience of my son finding a school where he feels comfortable. I could tell he connected with one campus in particular, and he’s at peace with the entire process. Priceless.

What are some of your favorite travel experiences of 2022?
