Last week, Royal Caribbean announced a policy change that is very good news for families!

Starting January 1, 2023, guests will be able to chat with other family members and friends for FREE on the Royal Caribbean app onboard. This is great news!
Previously, it cost $1.99 per person per day to chat with each other using the ship’s app. The annoying thing was that even people who paid for an Internet package had to pay an additional $1.99 per day to use the chat feature.
Disney Cruise Line has provided free family chat since the beginning, first through special wave phones available on board and then through a free chat feature. It’s about time another cruise line stepped up to the plate with this feature!
Communicating with your family members for free might not seem like a big deal to some people. But, when your kids get older and start going to the kids’ clubs with check-out privileges, it’s nice to be able to keep up with them and solidify plans together.
I have two Royal Caribbean cruises in 2023, and I’m ecstatic about this change! Anyone else?
