Last week, I wrote about how I’m taking advantage of a 0% APR on new purchases for 6 months on my Amex Hilton Honors card. Well, I’ve received another offer that’s even better!
My Chase Plan Offer
Via email, I received an offer from Chase for a 0% interest $0 fees on my first “My Chase Plan” on my Chase Disney Visa.
What is a “My Chase Plan”? It’s a pay-over-time feature on Chase credit cards. Instead of paying a high interest rate, you create a payment plan for a large purchase and pay it off in equal monthly installments along with a fixed monthly fee. The payment schedule ranges from 3-18 months.
To be honest, I’ve never considered one of these payment plans (Amex has one too). Why? I always pay off my credit card balances every month (except if I have a special 0% promo rate like I mentioned last week). Interest rates on travel credit cards are very high, and this miles and points hobby is not worth it unless you stick within your budget and pay off your cards in full each and every month.
But, I’m willing to create a My Chase Plan in this instance due to this special offer with no extra fees. To qualify, I must:
- Make a purchase that is between $100 and $6000 on my Chase Disney Visa card
- Create a My Chase Plan for that purchase by December 31, 2022
For a purchase to qualify, you must create a My Chase Plan within 90 days. The purchase must also not be a part of a special financing promo (like the 0% APR for 6 months on Disney vacations that’s already included on my Disney Visa card).
How will I use this?
I still need to pay off my family’s European cruise that we’re taking next summer, so this is a great way for me to spread out that cost over 18 months with no interest or fees. Since my final cruise payment isn’t due until February, I plan to wait until December to charge around $5000 on my Disney Visa card.
What’s in it for Chase? Well, I’m sure Chase is hoping I will love this pay-over-time feature so much that I will be tempted to use it again, even with a small monthly fee.
Nope, not gonna happen. Sorry, Chase. But, I’ll happily try it out while my money keeps earning interest in my savings account.
Have you received a free My Chase Plan offer on any of your Chase credit cards?

I just realized i have this on 3 cards. Thanks for the heads up.

Will I have to pay interest if I use the card? Or can I pay off the part that isn’t in the plan?
Wondering if that’s the catch:)
Nancy says
@Audrey You should be able to pay off in full the amount that’s not in the plan every month so as not to incur interest.

I’m assuming you have to make a new purchase after the offer? And can you continue to use the card?
Nancy says
Yes, the plan is for one large purchase and you can continue to make other purchases after that at the regular interest rate. The amount of the My Chase Plan monthly minimum is added to the card’s minimum monthly payment based on other charges.
