Using Credit Card Benefits for Presale Concert Tickets (Taylor Swift!)

November 1, 2022 By Nancy 3 Comments

Update: The Capital One pre-sale for Taylor Swift concerts was moved to Wednesday 11/16/22 due to issues on Ticketmaster today.

My husband and I own and use credit cards for two main reasons:

  • Convenience
  • Earning miles and points

In this blog, I mainly talk about signing up for new credit cards for the big sign-up bonuses and using those miles for trips. However, the credit cards we own have a lot of other benefits that we love. One of those benefits is early access to concert tickets and event tickets.

Capital One Card for Taylor Swift Presale Tickets

Taylor Swift just announced her 2023 US tour! I’m excited because one of my kids loves Taylor Swift, and concert tickets would make a fabulous Christmas present. (Locals–she’s coming to AT&T Stadium in Arlington on April 1 and April 2!!)

I just saw on View From the Wing that Capital One cardholders have early access to tickets. I own two Capital One cards, Capital One Venture Rewards (currently 75k bonus! See this post) and Capital One Venture X.

Presale tickets are available to Capital One cardholders on November 15 at 2 p.m. local venue time and continue through November 17, 2022 at 10 p.m. local venue time. Visit www.taylorswift.com/events and enter the first 6 digits of your Capital One card for the promo code. You must also pay with a Capital One credit card.

Amex Card for US Open and Ed Sheeran Concert Presale Tickets

Earlier this year, my son and husband attended the US Open in Queens, NY. We used miles and points for the flights and hotel. For the tickets, we had early access with my husband’s Amex Hilton Honors credit card. He was able to get every event he wanted.

A few weeks ago, I used my Amex Hilton for early access to Ed Sheeran concert tickets next year. I bought tickets as a Christmas present for one of my kids (shhhhh!). We got great seats!

Bottom Line

I’m all about miles and points from credit cards, but getting early access to concert tickets is another great benefit. Remember, experiences make great holiday presents that don’t end up cluttering your home.

I’ve never seen her live, but I bet she puts on a great show.
