Due to the projected path of Hurricane Ian and forecasted heavy rain and wind, Disney World quietly announced to travel agents that the company will waive all change and cancellation fees for guests until October 3, 2022. This applies to room-only reservations and package reservations.
In addition, Disney World will waive cancellation and no-show fees for dining reservations.
During past hurricanes and tropical storms, Disney World has lifted pet restrictions at its hotels to help coastal residents who are temporarily moving inland with their pets. I expect those pet restrictions will be announced soon.
As of right now, Disney World has not announced any closures of its main parks. However, Typhoon Lagoon and both Disney miniature golf courses will be closed on Wednesday and Thursday.
On the hotel side, Disney announced the temporary closure of Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground, Copper Creek Cabins at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge, Treehouse Villas at Disney’s Saratoga Springs and the Bungalows at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort. These sections will be closed through Friday, September 30, 2022.
To all our readers in the path of the storm….stay safe!
