August Brings New Transfer Bonus Opportunities

Hello August, and hello to three new transfer bonus opportunities! I love any chance to make my miles and points go further. Let’s take a look at these new transfer bonuses:

Capital One 20% Transfer Bonus to British Airways

This month, until August 31, Capital One has a 20% transfer bonus to British Airways. For every Capital One mile you transfer, you will get 1.2 British Airways Avios. Minimum transfer is 1000 miles.

No, it’s not as good as the Chase transfer bonus last month. But, if I find AA nonstop flights that I can book with British Airways Avios, I will totally use this transfer bonus.

I still have domestic flights I need to book for travel within the next 9 months. I hope I can find the flights I need on AA to use this transfer bonus.

Through August 31, Capital One also has a 20% transfer bonus to Air France/KLM Flying Blue program. For every Capital One mile you transfer, you will get 1.2 Flying Blue miles. Minimum transfer is 1000 miles.

I’m a big fan of Air France after flying business class from Dallas to Paris this summer. I already booked flights on Air France for next summer.

Citi 25% Bonus to Avianca LifeMiles

Through August 31, Citi is offering a 25% transfer bonus from Citi ThankYou points to Avianca LifeMiles. Minimum transfer is 1000 miles.

Avians has a lot of award partners. I’ve used Avianca LifeMiles to book a flight on United. Personally, I think Avianca LifeMiles are a bit difficult to navigate sometimes. But, the program does have some nice redemptions, especially from the U.S. to Europe on partner airlines.
