Ending Soon: Chase 30% Transfer Bonus to British Airways

July 28, 2022 By Nancy Leave a Comment

Heads up! The Chase 30% transfer bonus to British Airways Avios ends in a few days at 11:59 p.m. ET on July 31, 2022. This transfer bonus is a great deal if you have a specific use for British Airways Avios.

Transferring from Chase to British Airways

The transfer is easy to do. Log into your Chase account, go to your credit card with Ultimate Rewards, click Redeem and then click Transfer to Travel Partners. If you haven’t already performed a transfer to British Airways, you will need to input your loyalty number. Your name on both accounts must match exactly.

Transfers are usually instant, and you will only see the 30% bonus when you log into your British Airways account.

Why Use British Airways Avios?

Many people don’t use Avios to fly on actual BA planes. British Airways has many transfer partners that can be more useful.

For example, I use my BA Avios to fly on American Airlines. When AA has nonstop MileSAAver awards available, I can use BA Avios to book those flights, often for fewer miles than AA charges for using its own miles. I recently transferred Chase Ultimate Rewards to BA Avios to get flights on AA from DFW to Miami for just 6923 points!

Once you have BA Avios, you can transfer them to Aer Lingus Avios and Iberia Plus Avios for great deals on business class flights from the East Coast of the U.S. to Europe. You can also use Avios to fly Japan Airlines from LA to Tokyo for less than 26k in Economy (77k in business class).

I won’t be transferring points to BA unless I see the award availability I need right now. I plan to keep checking flights over the next few days before the transfer bonus ends on July 31.
