Last week, I wrote about visiting Priority Pass lounges at DFW airport with my free Priority Pass membership from my Capital One Venture X card. During the same trip, I also had a chance to check out a few lounges at IAH George Bush Intercontinental Airport in Houston.
Air France Lounge
The Air France Lounge at IAH is located in Terminal D, all the way at the end of the concourse.
Pros: The lounge offers a variety of snacks. I enjoyed some hummus and cheese. Chips and cookies were also available, as well as pretzels and nuts.
The lounge also offered multiple seating options for work, eating or relaxing.
Cons: Unlike the Capital One Lounge at DFW, the views are not good. The windows overlook cars and traffic. Power outlets for chargers are not plentiful. As time elapsed, the lounge became a bit cramped and crowded because the nearby KLM lounge was closed. Food and drink are not allowed to be taken outside of the lounge, which is a bummer for travelers who don’t have a lot of time.
But overall, the lounge serves its purpose with free food and comfortable seating away from the crowds in the airport.
Landry’s Seafood
After a bit in the Air France Lounge, my daughter and I decided to eat a full dinner at Landry’s Seafood in Terminal C. Priority Pass members get a $28 credit ($56 for two people). Note that Priority Pass memberships through Amex don’t have these restaurant privileges, and Landry’s was quick to tell us that when we entered. See this post on OMAAT for a complete rundown of all the airport restaurants included in Priority Pass membership).
Pros: Our $56 credit covered two full dinners for us. It didn’t quite cover the additional tip I wanted to include, so I paid that separately. The credit was easy to use.
Cons: Obviously, this is a typical restaurant, so there are no sofas or areas with chargers.
But hey, it’s hard to beat a free restaurant meal!
Final Thoughts
I was happy to have my Priority Pass membership to use at IAH. Not all lounges can compare to the Capital One Lounge at DFW. But, it’s still nice to get these free perks when we’re stuck at the airport.

Are there signs saying you can’t take food out of the lounge or is it in the terms somewhere?
Nancy says
There were signs posted at both food stations, unfortunately.
