A few days ago, Capital One announced a new bonus on the Capital One Spark Cash Plus business card. The total bonus is $3000 cash! Of course, there is a catch.
Details on Capital One Spark Cash Plus Business Card
- Get $500 cash bonus after spending $5000 in the first three months
- Get an additional $2500 cash bonus after spending a total of $50,000 in the first six months (that’s the catch!)
- $150 annual fee
- Earns 2% cash back on all purchases
- Employee cards are free
Between the bonus and the 2% cash on the $50k in spending, you will earn $4000 cash with this offer. That’s an 8% return on $50,000. Not too shabby!
This is a charge card with no pre-set spending limit. Charges must be paid in full every month (which hopefully all of you are doing anyway). Supposedly, this card does not count against you for Chase’s 5/24 rule.
If you own the Capital One Venture Rewards card or the Capital One Venture X card, you can transfer the cash back from the Spark Cash Plus card to your Venture card. For example, the $500 bonus translates to 50,000 Capital One miles. Capital One also allows card holders to transfer miles to family and friends who own a Capital One card.
Due to the high minimum spend requirement for the bonus, this card is only a good deal for certain small businesses with big cash expenditures coming up. My small business does not qualify. Check out other great bonus offers on business credit cards here.

Yeah 8% cashback… wow. I picked up the old Spark Cash for my wife back when it was $2,500 total. Received a paltry $5k credit line and and to cycle the living daylights out of that thing to hit the $50k spend! That won’t be a concern with this card.
