I Make a Ton of Money from Credit Card Sales
I don’t, really. This is a smaller blog compared to others, and I’m ok with that. It’s my part-time job. See How This Blog Makes Money. I’m not raking in a 6-figure income from credit card affiliate links, and I don’t ONLY recommend credit cards that pay us commission. That said, if you’re going to apply for a credit card, I do appreciate it when you use our links instead of applying directly through the banks.
I Take Orders from Boarding Area
The folks at Boarding Area do not control or monitor my content. Boarding Area brings more traffic and ad revenue to this blog, and the BA team has been a great partner to help me with the technical aspect of the blog.
There’s Drama Between Leana and Me
In case you didn’t know, Leana is the founder and original writer of Miles For Family. Nope, there’s no drama between us. We chat a few times every week. She is not as involved with the blog as she used to be, but she’s a wealth of knowledge who writes when she gets the chance. She’s the OG! (and I mean OG in a good way)
This Isn’t a Real Job
Nobody in my family or friends circle ever asks me about my job. I’m pretty sure they think I do nothing all day. The reality is that if I don’t write, I don’t make any money. The travel industry took a big hit because of the pandemic, and travel blogs are no exception. The last two years have been really tough for blog revenue. But, I know that travel will come back again eventually. And, I’m not doing this just for the money. I love the miles and points hobby, and I want to share it with the world.
I Travel for Free Because I’m a Blog Writer
No, I don’t get free travel just because I’m a blog writer. When I travel, I use the miles and points my family has earned from credit card rewards. We use 2-player mode with a sprinkling of business credit cards on top.
I’m a Covid Expert
Ha! Nope. I’m just a normal person trying to make the best decisions for my family based on the information available. Just because I’m comfortable traveling or not traveling doesn’t mean that’s what everyone should do.
I’m a Robot with No Feelings
I’m a real person sitting in front of a keyboard. Yes, I have feelings. Most of you know that, but some anonymous comments are so mean that I have to wonder. Would you say that to me in person? Hmmmm…..
