Chase just started offering some targeted bonuses for spending between January 15 and March 31, 2022.
How to See If You’re Targeted
To see if any of your Chase cards are targeted, you have to input some info at https://www.chase.com/mybonus.
I input all of my cards and my husband’s Chase cards. Some were not targeted, but others were.
The bonus offer is 5X points on up to $1500 in spending at Amazon, grocery stores and restaurants. In total, six of our co-branded cards have this offer. If we maximized these offers, we could get 45,000 extra miles and points.
A Word of Caution
Banks offer these types of promotions to incentivize extra spending. More credit card spending means more money in their pockets as a percent of each transaction and potentially interest fees. Don’t fall into that trap! Don’t over-spend your budget just to get more points.
If you’re already working on minimum spending on a new credit card, I recommend prioritizing that. My husband and I are still finishing spending for our Capital One Venture X cards right now, but we are almost done. For this promotion, I plan to prioritize our Hyatt cards followed by our United cards. As you can tell by my 2022 travel list, my family gets a lot of use out of Hyatt points.
The easiest thing to do is to change our Amazon default payment card to one of these targeted cards. Of course, if we were really motivated, we could use our savings to buy Amazon gift cards to maximize these targeted bonuses. But, that’s a lot of money to be tied up in Amazon gift cards, so we probably won’t.
Are you targeted for these Chase spending bonuses?
