Roundup of travel news from around the web:
Flight Attendants Deserve Better: I couldn’t agree more. Violence against flight attendants is reaching a ridiculous level and it has to stop. See this post on C Boarding Group.
The Biden Administration is About to Make Life Harder for Unvaccinated Families Who Travel: Starting November 8, unvaccinated Americans returning from international travel must show a negative Covid test within one day of return (instead of the current 3 days). Vaccinated adults and their children still have a 3-day window for testing. See this post on View From the Wing. My family visited Mexico this summer and had to get Covid testing prior to returning home. I’m thankful we had a 3-day window. A shorter testing window would be tight.
World of Hyatt Rolls Out New Points Calendar: With Hyatt rolling out the peak/off-peak award pricing this week, the company made an enhancement on the site that shows award prices by day. Unfortunately, the new calendar doesn’t show availability. See this post on One Mile at a Time.
Europe May Simplify Travel Restrictions: This sounds like a good idea. With cases on the rise over there, I’m not sure this will happen soon. See this post on God Save the Points.
American Completely Revamps its AAdvantage Program: Big news this week with AA revamping its loyalty program in the way that status is earned. See the details on this post from Miles to Memories. I don’t have or chase status on any airline, but for folks who travel often for business this may affect you.
Enjoy your weekend!
