Amazon Account Shutdown, Turkish Airlines Business Class, New Capital One Airport Lounge and More

October 22, 2021 By Nancy 4 Comments

Amazon Closes my Third Account Due to Gift Cards Again: This is an interesting post on Miles per Day. I’d be lost without my Amazon account, we use it so much.

Inside Capital One’s New Airport Lounge at DFW: Capital One is about to open its first airport lounge in the D terminal at DFW airport with more to follow. Initial reports look good, although I wonder if the everyday experience in the lounge can compare with this press preview? Also, Capital One has not announced the entry requirements yet. I’m not counting on Capital One cardholders getting in for free. See this post on View From the Wing.

Hyatt Peak/Off-Peak Pricing Confirmed to Begin October 26: Hyatt will begin its peak/off-peak award pricing model on October 26 for stays beginning March 2022. See my earlier post.

Review of Turkish Airlines Business Class: Now that I am booked in business class for my trip to Europe next year, I’ve become more interested in reading reviews of business class seats. When I was booking seats with our United miles, I noticed that seats were available on Turkish Airlines. See this review on TPG. I would take it. Even the economy seats don’t look too shabby.

Have a great weekend!

    Interesting…
The Oneworld website says if flying Finnair in Business, or with Emerald or Sapphire status gets you access to the Capital One lounge.

Flying Finnair to Helsinki this summer!

    Hi Nancy.
I’ve read business class and Star Alliance Gold passengers on Lufthansa flights have complimentary access to the new DFW Capital One Lounge. Do you know of other airlines that grant this access?

Particularly interested in Turkish and Qatar. Hoping Qatar at least has DFW AA Flagship lounge access (they’re the exception to every rule). Have not heard of Luftansa and Qatar DFW Terminal D lounges re-opening.

@Peter I’m sorry, I haven’t seen anything that indicates airlines giving privileges to the Capital One Lounge. Thew AA lounge did just recently re-open though.

Thanks. I found it on Lufthansa lounge access website itself (select Business passenger or Star Alliance Gold and DFW). I saw brief chatter on Flyer talk about it.
