Earlier this summer, my family traveled to Florida to enjoy Disney World and Universal. During our time at Disney World, we stayed in a 2-bedroom villa at Disney’s Beach Club Resort. Back in November 2019, I got a surprise upgrade to that resort for one night, so I already had a small taste of the resort. However, after staying there a week this summer, Disney’s Beach Club Resort quickly rocketed to my favorite Disney resort. Here is why.
Location, Location Location!
The location of Disney’s Beach Club Resort can’t be beat. (Ok, maybe it’s matched by the Yacht Club and Boardwalk, which are nearby). Beach Club is just a 5-minute walk to Epcot and a 10- to 15-minute walk to Hollywood Studios. That’s walking distance to not one but TWO parks. It’s so nice not to have to drive to a park or wait for a bus for those two resorts. Just get up and go!
The resort is also a 5-minute walk to a Disney Skyliner station. We took the Skyliner to other resorts as well as back from Hollywood Studios at the end of the night. So convenient!
Resort Size
Disney’s Beach Club Resort is one of the more compact resorts at Disney World. There is just one bus stop, and you don’t need an internal bus to get from building to building. After a long day of walking at the parks, it’s nice to return to a resort that doesn’t involve much walking.
Stormalong Bay Pool
Beach Club and Yacht Club share this 3-acre water park, and it’s so awesome! It has a lazy river, swirly whirlpool, sandy beaches, water slides…it has it all!
Every night after returning from a park, I went to Stormalong Bay to soothe my feet in one of the sand-bottom pools. The sand felt so good on my feet.
Beaches and Cream Diner
Mega ice cream sundae shop on property. Need I say more?
The Next Time….
Everyone in my family decided that if we go to Disney World for a longer length of time, we have to stay at Disney’s Beach Club again. The only reason I would pick another resort is if we’re only going to Magic Kingdom for a shorter stay. But otherwise, we are Beach Club Resort fans all the way!

I’m a DVC Member and have stayed here and Boardwalk which are my favorite places since you can walk to Epcot my favorite park. There’s a lot of nearby places to eat so you don’t even have to leave those area!

And during Thanksgiving week, just $700/night! LOL
Nancy says
@projectx True, it does come with a hefty price day. The upside is that it’s less expensive than the monorail deluxe resorts, and you can get rooms cheaper by renting DVC points.

Grand Floridian is tops!
Nancy says
@Nat I’ve never had a strong desire to stay at Grand Floridian! It’s so fancy.

Oh that sounds amazing, I think you have convinced me. I have always wanted to stay at the Contemporary for its proximity to the Magic Kingdom, but I guess Beach Club wins because it’s close to 2 parks instead. Did you go through DVC to book the villa?
Nancy says
@su9su9 If you’re only going to Magic Kingdom, the Contemporary is a great choice. I rented DVC points from a private owner on the disboards.com (see this post https://milesforfamily.com/2019/08/26/renting-dvc-points-next-disney-world-vacation/ )

Thank you for the link!

This place looks awesome!! I actually had no idea that there was a lazy river in one of Disney properties. I’m glad my kids don’t know about it.;)
Nancy says
@Leana We went to the resort years ago just to eat at Beaches and Cream, but we couldn’t un-see the pool area. I’ve wanted to stay there ever since.
