In 2019, toy company Mattel announced plans to enter the theme park and entertainment business. Now this is coming to fruition in Arizona next year!
Details of New Mattel Theme Park
The Mattel Adventure Park is slated to open in Glendale, Arizona in late 2022. The theme park will feature a Hot Wheels roller coaster and a Thomas the Tank Engine train. It will also have multiple go-karts and other indoor entertainment experiences.
The park will be next door to the Crystal Lagoons Island Resort water park and will share hotels, restaurants and retail stores. The project broke ground yesterday.
My Thoughts
This park sounds like it will be great for families with younger kids. It may give Legoland a run for its money!
I spent some time in the Phoenix area with my kids a few years ago, and we loved it there. If my kids were younger, I’d definitely put this new Mattel Adventure Park on my list!
