On the heels of the recent CDC announcement, today Universal Orlando announced that masks will no longer be required outside at its Florida theme parks. This new policy starts Saturday, May 15, 2021.
Face masks are still required on all attractions, including queues that start outside. Masks are also still required at all indoor locations, including shops and restaurants. See the updated safety guidelines on Universal’s website here.
Both Disney World and Universal Orlando are phasing out temperature checks. Will Disney follow suit with a more relaxed mask guideline? Disney’s CEO hinted that the mask policy will be more relaxed over the summer. But so far, Disney has not updated its mask requirements. Update: Disney just made its own similar revision.
Since my family (minus my youngest) is vaccinated and it’s going to be hot as heck in the summer when we visit Disney World and Universal, I’m happy to see these mask requirements changing. However, I realize this is a very controversial subject.
