Disney World Announces Reopening Dates of Four Onsite Hotels

December 16, 2020 By Nancy 1 Comment

Currently, several Disney World hotels are closed due to low occupancy. Yesterday, Disney World announced reopening dates for four of its onsite resort hotels.

Earlier this summer, guests staying at certain resort hotels in 2020 and through the end of 2021 were informed the hotels would be closed. Disney moved those guests to different onsite hotels.  See my earlier post Disney’s Beach Club Resort Closure Extended Through 2021. Note: DVC rooms are already open in all resorts.

Apparently, bookings for 2021 must be on the upswing. Disney just announced the following opening dates:

March 22, 2021: Disney’s All Star Movies Resort (pushed back from February 2021 reopening)

May 30, 2021: Disney’s Beach Club Resort

June 6, 2021: Disney’s Wilderness Lodge

Summer 2021: Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort (no exact date given)

If you were previously bumped from a reservation for 2021 in one of the above resorts, you can call Disney or ask your travel agent to move you back.

The resorts that are still closed with no announced reopening date are:

  • Disney’s All Star Music Resort
  • Disney’s All Star Sports Resort
  • Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge – Jambo House
  • Disney’s BoardWalk Inn
  • Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – French Quarter
  • Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – Riverside

I see this announcement as a very good sign that people are starting to feel optimistic about travel next year. I know I sure am!

My family has a reservation in a DVC condo at Disney’s Beach Club Resort in May 2021 before the hotel rooms reopen. To be honest, I’m looking forward to a lower occupancy rate and more room to spread at the pool.

I am curious to see if the remaining resorts will open later in 2021 after the vaccine its more readily available. Are you affected by this reopening announcement?

Thanks for the update. But as all the major cities are reopening then we need to follow proper sop’s which is issued by the local government. Also we need to follow basic rules likes hand washing/sanitization, wear mask also need to maintain social distancing which is new normal. With this we can save ourself from this covid
