Earlier this week and even earlier today, a few cruise lines (DCL, Viking, Princess, Royal Caribbean) announced they would temporarily suspend cruises to help combat Covid-19. This afternoon, Donald Trump announced via Twitter that at his request, Carnival, Royal Caribbean, Norwegian and MSC Cruise Lines will all suspend operations for the next 30 days starting today at midnight.
This is huge news, but absolutely the right call. Over 700 people tested positive for Covid-19 on the Diamond Princess, and at least 23 tested positive on the Grand Princess.
I have friends who are currently on cruise ships for spring break. Our spring break in Texas is early compared to other places around the country, so I know that these suspensions will affect many spring breakers in other parts of the U.S.

I know it’s the right call but that doesn’t mean that I am not disappointed! Our cruise on RCCL was due to leave on April 4.😢
Nancy says
I’m so sorry! 🙁 I know it must suck to look forward to something for so long, only to have it canceled.
