Swimming with Pigs, NY Banned from Global Entry and More

DHS Bans NY Residents from Global Entry: If you are a resident of the state of New York, you cannot currently enroll or re-enroll in Global Entry due to the state’s new Green Light Law. This also affects NEXUS, SENTRI and FAST. Wow! See all the details from The Points Pundit on Travel Update.

Hyatt Tests “Pay My Way”: From One Mile at a Time, World of Hyatt is currently testing a new “Pay My Way” feature. This enables members to use a combination of cash, points, Points + Cash or free night awards on a single booking. I was not targeted for this test, but I’ll be excited when it rolls out.

Visa Changing U.S. Swipe Fees: Visa announced this week it is making big changes to its interchange rates or “swipe fees”. Yes, every time you use a credit card, Visa gets a small percentage of your sale from the merchant for the privilege of using credit cards. Swipe fees for education will decrease, which is exciting for me because we will start paying for college in a few years. See this post on TPG.

5 Ways to Save Money on Spirit Airlines Flights: People love to hate on Spirit Airlines, but I’ve had great luck using Spirit to fly between Dallas and Denver. Mark from Miles to Memories wrote some great tips for saving money on Spirit. I didn’t know 4 out of 5 of these tips!

Hotels in Nassau and Paradise Island, Plus Swimming with Pigs: Harmony from Momma To Go has some great photos of the various resorts in Nassau and Paradise Island in The Bahamas. I’ve only been to Nassau on cruise ships, but I’m intrigued to try a land vacation. Also, I’m undecided on swimming with the pigs. Part of it sounds fun, but make sure you read all the candid details at the bottom of the post first.

@Momma To Go It looks like an incredible experience, really! My daughter would have freaked out when the pigs ran into the water. They are big!
