Once again, TurboTax is partnering with Southwest Airlines on a special promo during tax season. Get 1000 Southwest Rapid Rewards points for using TurboTax online. Easy peasy!
How to Get the Points
Go to the Southwest Rapid Rewards shopping site, and click on the TurboTax offer here. If you’re not already signed in to your Rapid Rewards account, the site will prompt you to sign in. If you don’t have a Southwest Rapid Rewards account, you can enroll to start earning points.
Qualified products include the 2019 online version of TurboTax Free Edition, TurboTax Deluxe, TurboTax Premier, TurboTax Self-Employed, and TurboTax Live. File your federal tax return online by April 15, 2020.
Bonus points take up to 8 weeks to be deposited in your account, although in my experience the points only take a few weeks to deposit. These points do not count towards A-List, A-List Preferred, or Companion Pass qualification.
Is It Worth the Trouble?
If you already use TurboTax, signing in through the Southwest portal adds just seconds to your process. While 1000 points isn’t enough to purchase a flight, I’ve gotten flights for as low as 3000-4000 points in the past. This is low-hanging fruit. Why not top off your account with an extra 1000 points? I take advantage of this deal every year.

Ha! I just wrote about this and came across your post one year ago. Hope you were able to take advantage of this again this year!

It looks like they’re charging $40 for the deluxe version with the state additional. At Target I got the deluxe version WITH state for the same price and got a bonus $5 Target gift card. I think adding the state is $19.95.
So I get 10,000 SWA points, but pay $25 more.

@Carl WV Thanks for sharing. Definitely go with whatever offer makes the most sense for your location. I don’t have state income taxes where I live, so Target is the same price as through SW for me.
