Hard Pass on Companion Pass, Manufacturing Hyatt Globalist Status and More

December 9, 2019 By Nancy Leave a Comment

Hard Pass on the Southwest Companion Pass: Mark from Miles to Memories is taking a hard pass on the Southwest companion pass. He has some valid reasons. I’ve had the Southwest companion pass twice before, and so has my husband. We saved so much money on flights! But, I agree that Southwest isn’t the bargain it used to be in many cases.

Manufacturing Hyatt Globalist Status: This is an interesting analysis by Greg at Frequent Miler on manufacturing Hyatt Globalist status. I don’t travel enough to jump through hoops (and cash and points) to get Globalist status, but I can see why some do.

The Dark Side of Traveling for Work: Check out this post by the C Boarding Group. My husband has experienced this with his frequent travel over the years. For him, trying to eat healthy and missing out on family events have been the hardest. I think he’s only been in town for one of our son’s orchestra concerts. You know what else is really hard? Being the parent left at home managing work, kids and everything else with a traveling spouse.

One Day in Abu Dhabi: My knowledge of Abu Dhabi is limited to the fictional movie Sex and the City 2. This post by The Travel Sisters gives some practical advice for visiting Abu Dhabi for one day on a layover.

Best Christmas Break Destinations in U.S. and Canada: I enjoyed reading this collaborative post from several family travel bloggers. Besides the obvious choices, there are some unexpected recommendations on this list.
