Take my money already! At the D23 Expo this weekend, Disney Cruise Line just announced the name of its 5thship: Disney Wish!
What We Know
Disney Wish will be DCL’s first LNG-powered ship. The ship will be built at the Meyer Weft shipyard in Papenburg, Germany. At 144,000 gross tons, Disney Wish will be slightly larger than the Disney Dream and Disney Fantasy ships.
At D23, DCL revealed the name with this video:
Rapunzel will adorn the ship’s stern. Disney Wish will be delivered to DCL in late 2021, with the first sailings in January 2022.
DCL also announced a timeline for DCL’s second private island in the Bahamas, Lighthouse Point. Construction is expected to start in 2020. Read all the details on the Disney Parks Blog.
What We Don’t Know
There are still a lot of details we don’t know about the Disney Wish. What will the atrium character be? (Disney Magic has Mickey, Disney Wonder has Ariel, Disney Dream has Donald and Disney Fantasy has Minnie). My bet is on Pluto or Goofy.
DCL has not announced themes for the kids clubs or adult areas or any new technology or entertainment for Disney Wish. C’mon, we need more info!
Are you excited about the Disney Wish? What are your predictions for the characters, features and entertainment for the Disney Wish? Any guesses on opening price points?
