Flight Shaming in Europe: This article in Time is very interesting to me. I’ve never heard of flygskam or flight shaming due to high carbon footprint. Trains in Europe make sense. I have a hard time seeing this catch on in the U.S. due to our current train system and the distance between cities. I’m still waiting for the high speed rail between Dallas and Houston.
Perfect Family Vacations for Social Media: I laughed at this article all the way through. (Warning: language!) I love seeing photos of everyone’s family vacations on Facebook and Instagram. I just wish that sometimes people would post the not-so-perfect stuff. My favorite line: “I threw my husband the car keys and told him to not come back until he had fans. All the fans.” Can you relate to this vacation experience?
40% Transfer Bonus from Amex to Avois: Through 10/1/19, you can get a 40% bonus when you transfer Amex Membership Rewards to British Airways Avios or Aer Lingus Avios. This is a fantastic deal for domestic travel if you live near an AA hub, as you can use British Airways Avios to book AA award flights for fewer miles. Since my family lives in Dallas, we can book flights on AA to Denver and Orlando for just 9000 Avios on AA (instead of 12,500 AA miles).
Have a great weekend!

This comment on “Perfect family vacations” article is the best : “Spot on! I feel like vacations are similar to giving birth. After a few months, you forget the pain and all you can remember are the good times. You even get brave enough to think… Let’s do it again.”
Wow, I never thought of it like that, but it’s true.

That’s so true! I guess that’s why we keep doing it. I really felt for this mom. The air conditioning issue probably magnified all the bad things.
