Several credit card bonuses and offers changed in the past week. Let’s dig in:
Hawaiian Airlines 70k Business Card Bonus—Hawaiian Airlines Business Mastercard (non-affiliate link) by Bank of Hawaii but underwritten by Barclays now has a bonus of 70,000 miles, the highest it’s been. Earn 60k miles after spending $1000 in the first 90 days. Earn another 10k miles after one purchase on an employee card. The annual fee of $99 is not waived. For those trying to get under Chase’s 5/24, this card is a good option. See this post on Doctor of Credit for more details.
JetBlue Personal and Business Cards—The bonuses on both of these Barclay cards increased last week. The JetBlue Business Card (non-affiliate link) has a 60k bonus after spending $1000 in the first 90 days and after making a purchase on an employee card. The personal version of this card (non-affiliate link) has a 50k bonus after spending $1000 in the first 90 days. Both cards have a $99 annual fee, which is not waived. These miles aren’t very useful for my home airport, but check out JetBlue’s destinations to determine if it flies where you want to go.
Amex Relaunches Blue Cash Preferred Card—Yesterday, Amex relaunched the Blue Cash Preferred Card. The bonus is $250 after spending $1000 in the first three months. If you apply through someone’s personal referral link, the bonus is $300. We’ve seen higher offers on this card in the past. As part of the relaunch, the card now offers 6% cash back on streaming subscriptions and 3% back on transit (i.e. ride shares, tolls, etc.).
Secret CitiBusiness ThankYou Credit Card—I saw this post on MilesTalk first. The card has no annual fee, and you are still eligible for the 30k bonus points even if you’ve recently had the personal version. The big catch is you have to go into a bank branch to apply. I’m intrigued.
Terps Clawing Back Points and Devaluing Non-flight Redemptions—Leana has written about the Terps Visa a few times. If you got this card, read these updates on Doctor of Credit. The good news is that airfare redemptions have not been devalued.
Southwest Flight Schedule Wonkiness—Some of us are waiting patiently for Southwest Airlines to release its schedules for the November/December holiday season. Currently, flight schedules only go through November 2, 2019. The date keeps moving! See this post from Deals We Like.
Andaz West Hollywood Playing Tricks with Award Stays—One thing I really appreciate about Gary Leff, who owns View From the Wing, is that he consistently calls out hotels when they play games with award nights. See his post on the Andaz West Hollywood as well as his follow-up post with a comment from the General Manager. Since the hotel offers other non-standard rooms for the same price as standard rooms but they’re not available for award stays, this seems fishy to me.
Royal Caribbean Adds Connecting Room Search Feature—Large families rejoice! Royal Caribbean has now made it possible to search for connecting staterooms online. Woohoo! See this post from Royal Caribbean Blog.
Have a fabulous weekend!

I always thought the reason you had to call in to book connecting staterooms was so that people that didn’t need them wouldn’t inadvertently book a room with a connecting door. Hopefully that safeguard is still in place online. Regardless… it’s about freaking time, RCL!

@projectx I’ve used a TA to book our RCCL cruises, but I like to look online myself as well. I’m glad they added this feature!

I got the Citi TYP biz card as a downgrade from another card, I think it was the AA biz but I’m not 100% sure. No branch necessary though.
Nancy says
@Nick Interesting! Did you get a bonus, or not since it was a downgrade?
