The annual Daily Getaways by the U.S. Travel Association kick off today. There are five weeks of daily deals. The first three weeks of deals are already listed in detail on the site. As of now, the last two weeks of deals have not yet been announced.
The first three weeks of deals do not make me squeal with excitement. There are a lot of Las Vegas hotel certificates, hotel point purchases and a few rental car deals. However, there are two Daily Getaways I am considering.
$325 for 2-night Stay at Luxury Loews Resort
On May 17, there are several offers for Loews hotels. This one in particular intrigues me because it’s good at Loews Royal Pacific Resort at Universal Florida. Guests who stay at this location get on-site perks at Universal parks, including early entrance to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter and free Universal Express Unlimited ride access.
$325 for two nights at this on-site Universal hotel is a great deal. During peak times, I see rates at this hotel run $400+ a night.
My family is planning a trip to Universal and Disney World next summer. This offer is valid for stays through June 30, 2020, so this could work for us. Since Universal doesn’t have any free front-of-line passes like Disney World has, we want to either buy the Express Unlimited ride access or stay at one of the three on-site hotels where it is included.
However, I have a few problems with this potential great deal. First of all, there are only 25 certificates available. Secondly, the terms and conditions state several times that this deal is for double occupancy. Most rooms at Loews Royal Pacific Resort actually sleep five people.
I contacted Daily Getaways to inquire if I could add my three kids to the room should I be lucky enough to snag this deal. This was the response:
“The Loew’s offer depends on the room type listed, the occupancy can be found on their website. Unfortunately, we cannot “add” anything on top of the daily deals offered. Please let me know if you need further assistance.”
Clear as mud?
Lastly, the fine print says these certificates are subject to blackout dates. However, the blackout dates are not listed. I’ve reached out to Daily Getaways for clarification, and I will update this post when I hear back.
I haven’t decided if I will try to get this deal when it goes live. If you are a party of two and you were already planning to go to Universal and you are flexible on your dates, this is a great deal.
$1000 Orbitz Hotel Promo Code for $650
On May 24, the daily getaway is a $1000 Orbitz hotel promo code for $650. Only 60 are available starting at 1:00 p.m. This is potentially an easy way to save $350 on a hotel stay.
This deal has a lot of fine print and caveats. Your hotel booking has to be at least $1000. You have to pre-pay at the time of reservation. You must book by March 15, 2020 and travel by December 30, 2020. The offer isn’t valid for multiple hotel rooms. But the biggest caveat is that once you book your hotel stay, you cannot cancel it or change your date and re-use the promo code.
If you are lucky enough to be one of the 60 to snag this, and if you have a hotel stay that you know you won’t have to cancel, this deal could be a great score.
Bottom Line
I’m not overly excited about most of the Daily Getaways in the first three weeks. However, if your travel plans align with any of these deals, it’s possible to save some money. Before you pounce on a deal, read the fine print and make sure you will be able to use the deal for your specific plans.
Readers, are you excited about any of the Daily Getaways this year? Which ones?

We have a Disneyworld trip next Feb/March and I was interested in this one also but am leary for the same reasons you listed above. I have read previously from other blogs that they didnt enforce the dbl occupancy rule with a few others that have purchased this package previous years. They also allowed their entire group the express unlimited passes. Of course this doesnt mean it would work this time but good chance it wouldnt be enforced Im thinking. The main thing that I am worried about is the blackout dates. If the dates I wanted were blacked out then I would be out $325. If it did work out and I get get 2 nights plus Express Unlimited passes it would be a great deal. Just depends on whether I want to gamble or not.

@Erik Glad to heat they likely don’t enforce the double occupancy rule. I still hope to hear back about some blackout dates!
