Last week, my family vacationed in Florida. As most of you know, Leana lives in Central Florida. We had a few days of overlap while I would be there and before her family left for Jamaica. Even though I’ve “known” Leana for several years online, we had never met before!
This was our chance. In the weeks leading up to this trip, I wasn’t sure if this meeting would take place due to some stuff happening with my extended family and Leana’s root canal situation. Fortunately, everything fell into place at the last minute.
Although we were still a couple hours apart, we met sorta in the middle in St. Petersburg for dinner. I Googled restaurants that were kid-friendly, and we chose a place on the outskirts of town called The Chattaway.
The restaurant had a large outdoor seating area full of plants and flowers.
The entrance had a koi pond, and around the property were many clawfoot bathtubs filled with plants. It was beautifully quirky!
Of course the best part was meeting Leana and her family and getting to chat in person. Folks, Leana and her family are even sweeter than I imagined! In case you missed this on our Instagram page, somehow we managed to get all 9 of us looking at the camera at the same time.
The ironic thing about our meet-up was that the restaurant was cash-only, no credit cards. Ha! No miles and points for us.
