Hot Credit Card Offers May 2023

I don’t mention credit cards on this blog every day. But the truth is, signing up for new credit cards with high welcome bonuses is the main reason my family travels so much. Here are some of the current hottest credit card offers for miles and points travel enthusiasts.(Note: Offers subject to change. See here for the latest offers).

Chase Sapphire Preferred 80k Bonus

My favorite card that I recommend to newbies is the Chase Sapphire Preferred Card. It currently has a welcome bonus of 80,000 points after spending $4000 in the first three months (or 90k if you apply in a branch with $6k total spend). This is a limited time higher bonus offer. Citi/AADvantage Platinum World Select Mastercard 75k Bonus (Ending soon!)

For folks who live near an American Airlines hub, the Citi/AADvantage Platinum World Select Mastercard is a great choice. The bonus is currently 75,000 AA miles after spending $3500 in the first 4 months. See this post for more info.

Chase IHG Rewards Premier Business Credit Card 165k bonus

The Chase IHG Rewards Premier Business credit card has a new higher welcome bonus of 165,000 points after spending $3000 in the first three months. We saw the personal version with this higher bonus earlier this year, and now the business version has the higher bonus. If you have a small business and you’re looking to add to your IHG points stash, now’s the time to jump on this. (If this is your first business card, I recommend the Chase Ink Business Cash or Chase Ink Business Unlimited instead. Both have 75k bonus points that you can transfer to multiple travel partners including United, Southwest and Hyatt).

Capital One Venture Rewards Card 75k Bonus

It doesn’t get any easier than the Capital One Venture Rewards card. The current welcome bonus is 75,000 miles after spending $4000 in the first 3 months. Miles accumulate at 2X for all purchases. See this post for more info.

Capital One Venture X Business Card Up to 300k Bonus

I’d be remiss if I didn’t at least mention the Capital One Venture X Business Card. Many of us already have the personal version of the Venture X Card. The business version of the card is currently only available through Capital One business reps. The reason I haven’t mentioned it much (or at all) on this blog is that the spending requirements for the bonus are HIGH. Spend $30,000 in the first 3 months and get 150,000 bonus miles. If you spend $500,000 in the first 12 months, you will earn another 150k miles. I’m not applying for this card unless/until the hurdles for the bonus miles are lower.
