Miles and Points Recap: Chase Unlimited Link, Visa Checkout Deal on Staples, Victoria’s Secret and More!

  1. Chase Freedom Unlimited link is now available online.  Update: This card now pays me commission. You might want to read my post on this card first. Reportedly, it is now subject to 5/24 rule.
  2. Get $25 off $100 at with Visa Checkout. Expires 4/09/2016 or when promotional redemption limit has been reached. Time to stock up on toilet paper! (h/t Frequent Miler Quick Deals)
  3. Possible free $10 item through Kohl’s Discover Deals.
  4. Wanted to  mention that $10 Victoria’s Secret cards from the recent promotion do work on shipping charges. I just got a pair of underwear on clearance for 58 cents by shopping online, so no need to go to a physical store to redeem them.
  5. Looks like Marriott is going to buy SPG chain after all. If you missed out on the recent 35K  sign-up bonus on Amex SPG, good news: it will most likely come back at some point. American Express will do everything it can to get as many cardholders as possible before the card is discontinued. So don’t apply right now!
  6. Speaking of SPG points, check out this post on Savingforadream listing some family resorts you might want to consider booking with your newly acquired bonus.

    • Emily, you can do it by going to your Chase online profile and selecting “Send secure message” option at the top. Then just send an email telling them you want to convert your card. They’ll probably send you follow-up message and you’ll have to reply that you agree to conversion. That said, you may want to stick to Freedom due to 5% categories. Your decision, of course, but I recommend you read my post on it.

    • I don’t believe so. You would have to apply for it, conversion from another card doesn’t count. That said, you can pick up $175 sign up bonus if you go that route.
The balance transfer fee on this card is kind of high, though. You might want to look at other offers if that’s what you are after primarily.
