I normally don’t post on Saturday, but wanted to give you heads up on the new IHG PointBreaks list. As always, it’s like a box of chocolates, so you never know what you’re gonna get. Since we are approaching holidays when the kids are off, the list may be of interest to you, in case you have specific plans for that particular city.
Paying 5,000 points sure beats sleeping on a couch, doesn’t it? In fact, one of the hotels is located near my husband’s relatives’ place. So, we have made plans to visit them. Even though we’ll be redeeming points for 3 rooms, it’s a great bargain.
There are a couple of Crowne Plaza hotels, but the list mostly consists of Holiday Inn Express. See the full list of hotels on Loyalty Lobby site. It goes live Monday, November 24th, and is valid for stays through February 28th. You can transfer points from Ultimate Rewards 1:1 or buy them through IHG website.
You can also buy them via “cash+points” trick, where you make a reservation at a random IHG hotel, then cancel it and get the points refunded. That way, they end up costing 0.7 cents each. You have to have 5,000 points to begin with.
Readers, do you see anything appealing?
